Kona Fishing Charter Boats
The Island of Hawaii, also known as the Big Island is home to the famous fishing grounds of the Kona coast. Kona is well known for large marlin catches and big money fishing tournaments like the Hawaii Marlin Tournament Series and the Hawaiian International Billfish Tournament (HIBT). The reason Kona has excellent fishing grounds is that the water gets deep very quickly off the Kona coast and the fishing grounds start just outside the harbor, so you are fishing in excellent territory right away with minimal run time. Also, the large volcano mountains of the Big Island block the trade winds for miles in the fishing grounds area, so the water is pretty nice most of the time.
