| Entry blanks recently became available for the 5th Annual Ahi Fever In Waianae Fishing Tournament, and almost immediately 35 boat teams had signed up. For many boat fishermen around Oahu, this is the tournament they look forward to all year. The tournament will take only the first 260 teams and it always fills up way before the entry deadline. Presented
by the Waianae Boat Fishing club and major sponsors Windward Boats, Chevron, Coors Light,
JN Chevrolet, and Shimano, the volunteer tournament committee is gearing up for the big
two days on June 16&17. Ahi Fever has been the largest fishing tournament in Hawaii
for four years now and each year many boat captains hesitate a little to long and end up
on the stand by waiting list. As
in previous years there will also be a Ho'olaule'a staged in conjunction with the
tournament. For 2001 the Valley of the Rainbows will be presenting their Ho'olaule'a
Summer Bash with non stop entertainment, craft/food booths, exhibits of fishing boats and
trucks to pull them, antique cars, home improvement demonstrations, marine exhibits, and
much more. Each
year a portion of the Ahi Fever proceeds is donated to other non profit groups who
volunteer to help with the tournament and The Valley of The Rainbows raises money for
scholarships for leeward coast youth. For
