Some of the 260 boats entered in to the Ahi Fever in Waianae Fishing Tournament were 50 and 60 feet, costing hundreds of thousands, but the big winner turned out to be Abelio Tingcang who usually fishes alone in his 17 foot boat. For this day, his brother could make it and they ended up cathing a 201.2 lb. Ahi, just five miles outside of the harbor. This grand prize is $10,000. Abelio had been down at the harbor under some keawe trees working on making a sponson on his boat almost every day leading up to the tournament. He finished it just in time to enter the tournament and says he still can't believe that he has won.
