The Legend 2, a 1999 35' Cabo Express is powered by twin 435 hp., caterpillar diesels , and has on board the latest in fishing finding electronics available and all Gold Penn International Reels with Custom Rods. In addition, she is outfitted with color TV, VCR, CD Stereo, air conditioning, a full-galley, head, and plush comfortable seating.

Captain Hector Ubaldo and crew Aaron Estenscion are both from the Islands. Hector working under Owner/Captain Mike Vidal, 1999 World Billfish Champion, has gained tremendous recognition for his aloha, feel of the water and ability to find fish. Between Captain Hector and Mate Aaron, they have acquired over 30 years of experience fishing the Kona waters. Knowledge and experience abound aboard the Legend, as has been demonstrated in numerous tournaments.

The Legend team is very experienced with tournament fishing and not only participates, but places high in the Kona Marlin Series tournaments year after year.  The Legend team took 1st place in the 1999 World Billfish Series Heavy Tackle Tournament by tagging five Blue Marlin in three days, and took 2nd place in the 1999 World Billfish Light Tackle Tournament, and 2nd place in the 1999 World Billfish Tag and Release Tournament. The team also captured 1st place finishes in the August Moon and Big Island Invitational Touranments as well as 2nd place in the Pancho & Lefty's Tournament.  The crew is very familiar with IGFA touranment rules and keeps their gear in top condition. for those anglers wishing to particiate in a tournament or simply fish by IGFA standards.

"We just arrived home from our stay in Kona, and wanted to get a thank you note off to you for our trip on the Legends 2. We had a great day and fun time with Captain Hector and Mate Buddy.  Both were very accommodating and friendly, agreeing to chase some Yellowfin tuna (Ahi) which we had requested.  We traveled down to the southern FAD and had a blast with 2 - 4# ahi on light tackle.  We also were able to get a cow mahi about 15# and on the long trip back to the dock, hooked and landed a Blue Marlin at 391#!! What a thrill.  Buddy and Hector seemed as excited as I was. 

Both gents were very friendly and service oriented and most professional.  They answered all my endless questions about the differences in sportfishing in Kona vs. South Florida.  We had just a great time and couldn't have been more pleased.
