On Kauai, the water gets deep very quickly, so there is really no run time to get to the good fishing grounds. While in the fishing grounds you are still close enough to the island to see the awe inspiring cliffs, mountains and valleys from a viewpoint you can only get from a boat. Kauai is also one of the few islands with freshwater fishing available in the scenic east side jungle like rivers.
