2002 World Billfish Challenge

The World Billfish Challenge is a World Billfish Series event.  The World Billfish Series is a circuit of billfish tournaments held all over the world.  Anglers who are members of the World Billfish Series compete in the circuit of tournaments accumulating points towards the goal of being named World Billfish Champion.  Anglers need not be members of the World Billfish Series in order to compete in the World Billfish Challenge tournaments.

 

Light Tackle Tournament - July 15-18 KONA:
Fishing Days: July 16, 17,18
Qualifying Species: Ono, Mahi Mahi, Ahi, Spearfish, Sailfish, Striped Marlin, Blue Marlin, Black Marlin
Line Classes: 20 - 30 - 50 lbs. test line
Entry Fees: $3,000.00 per team of 4 anglers.  Additional Entry fees for special awards

Heavy Tackle Tournament - July 21-24 KONA:
Fishing Days: July 22, 23, 24
Qualifying Species: Blue Marlin or Black Marlin (Ahi for product prizes only)
Line Classes: 130 lb. test line
Entry Fees: $4,000.00 per team of 4 anglers.  Additional Entry fees for special awards
IGFA Rules apply

 

The Billfish Foundation Hawaii Shootout - July 18-20 KONA:
Fishing Days: July 19, 20
Qualifying Species: Blue Marlin or Black Marlin (Ahi for product prizes only)
Line Classes: 130 lb. test line
Entry Fees: $1,000.00 per team of 4 anglers.  Additional Entry fees for special awards
Total Release Marlin Tournament.  IGFA Rules apply

 

World Billfish Challenge Ko Olina - Aug 14-17 OAHU:
Fishing Days: Aug 16-18
Entry Fees: $2,000.00 per team of 4 anglers.  Additional Entry fees for special awards
